What is arthritis?

Arthritis is a condition that can cause immense pain and inflammation in joints. The two most common types of arthritis are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis.

Osteoarthritis:

  • Pain eases while resting
  • Cold water can make pain worse
  • It can be caused by age-related wear and tear

Rheumatoid:

  • Pain usually occurs in the morning (inactivity)
  • Joint involvement is usually symmetrical (both elbows, knees)
  • Can migrate to other parts of the body, including organs & skin

How can CBD help with arthritis?

CBD has strong anti-inflammatory properties that help counter one of the main sources of pain in arthritis: inflammation. Now for some science… CBD can interact with the CB² receptors. CBD is known to have immunomodulating activity on these receptors. Research shows that CBD can help modulate the release of cytokines, the chemical which initiates inflammation. This opens up the idea that CBD may not only be used to help relieve pain from arthritis, but also prevent further damage to joints.

How much CBD should I take?

When starting to use CBD its always a good idea to start with low doses, then increase from there until desired effects are met. A common starting point for arthritis is 5mg and 10mg. With more intense pain, an increase of 5mg is common until the effects expected are met.

It’s also important to note that there are many variables that should be considered, such as height, weight, and gender. This is where the helpful CBD dose calculator from Paradise CBD comes in handy. You can use it here:

What CBD products can help with arthritis?

Many forms of CBD can be beneficial for easing arthritis symptoms.

Vaping Products

CBD can be introduced to the body through the use of juice, oil, or flower. I have found both to be very effective, with flower being my preferred method of consumption. However, juices and oils can be a lot more inconspicuous. A vape I have tried before and reviewed can be seen here.

Capsules

Using CBD in the form of oil capsules can be beneficial for many reasons. Doses are pre-measured, so you know what is in each capsule. With Bottled CBD, you must calculate how many mg of CBD are in each drop. Capsules are also an easy and inconspicuous form of consumption.

Patches

CBD patches are commonly used for pain management due to their slow but steady release of CBD into the bloodstream. Patches can also be beneficial for those suffering from arthritis, as the comforting feeling of the patch and slow, steady release of CBD may help for longer periods of the day.

Edibles

Using CBD in the form of edibles can be beneficial, as it is generally a very pleasant experience, as some may not like the taste of pure CBD oil. Edibles can come in many different forms, such as gummies, chocolate, tea, juice, and many more!

Finally…

As with anything its important to know your own body, check your dosages and always consult your doctor before starting any new medicines. Bless up x
